Key West Evenings & Night Life
The day is over, but the not the fun. Every day people are looking forward to the Sunset time in Key West. There are so much to do in this time of the day in Key West. Watching sunset is a must on this island and you can choose few ways to do it, which usually follows with a wonderful dinning experience. You must explore all the dining choices and enjoy the fresh and delicious local cuisine.
After the sun goes down, Duval Street wakes up. During the day it's a place to shop, but after dark it is simply “The Place”. Duval Street is the major and one of the most famous streets in Key West, Florida. The Duval Street bar and restaurant district includes many different entertainment options, all within walking distance of each other. There are around 360 liquor licenses on the island of Key West. There are plenty of choices and it will take you few days to visit them all and find your favorite ones. It seems there are still plenty visitors that try to do it all in one night.
Another fun thing to do is to take an evening walking tour. Either one that helps you to explore the bar seen or one that tells you all the haunted tales about the "Bone Island". If you dont feel like walking, we even have a night "Ghost Trolley" tour, so you can just sit back and let them to take you around the haunted island.
You won't find any trendy lounges or clubs here. That's not what the Keys are all about. Instead, you'll find come-as-you-are bars playing live music and pouring beers and rum runners as fast as the crowd can drink them. It’s an interesting mix of locals and tourists, although mostly the former. There is always something happening on Duval Street.
In the Keys, there is almost never a dress code. Most people consider shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of flip-flops dressing up. Given the tropical climate, you won't want to wear much more. No one is in a rush, everyone just wants to have a good time.
Make sure to bring your I.D. with you (legal age is 21yrs) and after the fun night, don’t attempt to drink and drive, walk, take a taxi or pedicab back to your hotel.
