If you would like to escape the cold winter months and get a little break, there is no warmer place to be than in Key West. With average daytime temperatures in the mid- to high-70s, during December, January and February, the weather in the southernmost city in the continental U.S. is definitely a big draw. Key West has one of the mildest weather temperature climates in the world, which is why it is a major tourist destination in the Sunshine State of Florida.
Key West has an overall average high temperature of 83°F and an average low of 73°F. On average Key West's warmest month is August and January is the average coolest month. The maximum average rainfall usually falls in September. Key West averages about 51 days a year when the temperature reaches 90 degrees or above.
December through April, referred to as the dry season, receives roughly 25 percent of the annual rainfall, usually ahead of cold fronts. June through October is considered the wet season, receiving approximately 60 percent of the yearly total in showers and thunderstorms.
Weather temperatures have been officially kept in Key West, Florida since 1872. The highest recorded temperature in Key West was 97°F (36°C), which has occurred on two different dates in July 19, 1880, the second time was on August 26, 1956. The lowest officialy recorded temperature was a very cool 41°F (5°C), which has occurred also on two different dates, on January 12, 1886, and the second time was on January 13, 1981.

Key West is one of the destinations, that doesn't really matter when you visit, as it is always lovely weather. You might get one or two rainy days, but usually our rain comes and goes and the rest of the day is sunny. On the rare occasions we have days that stays overcast all day long, but remember, it is still warm, so you can still enjoy the outdoors, bike rides, water activities as long as is not too windy. Actually some of the overcast days are very welcome from the hot summer days. Our winters are as warm as summers in some other countries!
